  2. Starting Up

I haven’t posted anything in a while, but since I am done playing rugby my cardio has taken a hit. I want to start doing more cardio in the gym instead of just hitting weights. As of right now I am at 195 lbs and would like to get down to 185 without losing anything in my major lifts. I’m thinking if I write this down then I will be more tightly bound to my goals and future success.

    SW: 194

    CW: 194

    GW:185

For my main lifts, I don’t have any maxes off the top of my head, but I like to get at least these numbers:

    Squat: 4x10 @ 315 lbs

    Bench Press: 4x12,10,8,6 @ 205 (or just rep 225 10 times)

    Deadlift: 315 10 times.

Snow leopards have been seen at altitudes as high as 18,000 feet in Summer, which is just a few thousand feet short of climbing Mt. Everest.

My tips for surviving Superbowl Sunday temptation!
I should preface this by saying, it’s ok to splurge now and then! If it’s been awhile since you’ve relaxed and let yourself have a treat, then go for it! If you keep your cheat in moderation, you will not have to worry about it wrecking your progress!!! Craving pizza? Have a slice! Want some wings? Have a couple! Just don’t overdo it!However, if you are truly more interested in sticking to your plan, rather than indulging… here is what I personally recommend!
LOAD UP on the veggies!!! A lot of people who hold Superbowl parties have veggies and dip that go virtually untouched until the wings and pizza are long gone.  Take advantage of that by loading your plate with them! They will keep your hands and mouth busy =)
Avoid the chips, creamy dips, dressings and sauces.. they’re empty calories full of unhealthy fats and sugar! Choose salsa instead!
Want a burger? Go bunless! Have a small patty (or split one with a friend) and add tomatoes, onions and lettuce (mustard is fine too, avoid ketchup as it’s full of sugar)! If the lettuce is big enough, you can turn it into a make-shift wrap!
SKIP THE ALCOHOL AND SODA!!! Drink lots of water! If lemon or other fruit is available, this can make for great flavoring! Get creative =)
Like I said, everything in moderation! It’s not the end of the world if you have a chip or if you take some bites of pizza. Get back on track Monday and leave game day behind you. =)
